CESOP Manager
About Complyfirst
Complyfirst is the home of reporting. We help payment service providers automate their most painful workflows, including regulatory reporting, suspicious activity reports (SARs), and audit reporting.
Our platform removes 80% of manual work, freeing compliance teams to focus on reviewing, not doing. We grew 6x last year and are hiring across the business.
Role Overview
We’re hiring a CESOP Manager to lead and operationalise our CESOP submission capability across the EU. Reporting to the CTO, you’ll own getting Complyfirst registered with EU tax authorities so we can submit CESOP XML reports on behalf of PSP clients. You’ll also work directly with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on CESOP requirements, timelines, and submission processes.
This is a first-of-its-kind role. You will be our internal CESOP expert - owning tax authority registrations, understanding local submission requirements, engaging with regulators, supporting client conversations, and documenting the process so it becomes repeatable.
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
Top priorities (the 3 biggest focus areas of this role):
- Register Complyfirst with EU tax authorities: Own the end-to-end registration process in each relevant EU Member State so we are authorised to submit CESOP data on behalf of PSP clients
- Own CESOP submissions: Work closely with our product and engineering teams (who generate the XML files) to ensure submissions are valid, compliant, and successfully filed. Troubleshoot rejections and ensure successful resubmissions where needed.
- Client registrations: Work directly with clients on new CESOP registrations and new country launches acting as the operational lead throughout the process.
Other day-to-day activities:
- Monitor regulatory updates and translate changes into clear internal actions.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure smooth delivery.
- Stay organised using Jira and Confluence to track progress and document processes.
What We’re Looking For
- CESOP subject-matter expertise with a strong understanding of PSP reporting obligations.
- 2 years+ hands-on experience registering and filing with EU tax authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Operationally strong- you can turn regulatory complexity into structured processes.
- Detail-oriented and resourceful - you read guidance carefully and get things done.
- Autonomous and proactive – you can figure things out from scratch.
- Clear communicator – you can simplify complexity for internal teams and clients.
- Professional English (written and spoken), suitable for working directly with regulators and clients across the EU.
- Comfortable using tools like Jira and Confluence to manage work.
This role is not for you if…
- You have never completed an end-to-end CESOP registration with a tax authority.
- You’re uncomfortable dealing directly with regulators or government portals.
- You struggle with ambiguity or cross-border regulatory complexity.
- You don’t want to — or don’t know how to — navigate complex regulatory documentation independently.
- You need lots of direction, training, and daily hand-holding.
- You prefer everything to be fully figured out before you start.
What We Offer
- Full-time, remote role
- Competitive salary, based on experience
- Working hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:30 GMT
- 35 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)
- Company-provided laptop
